Pics from Granada

Hey, just wanted to link in the pics from Granada. As you can see, most of them were taken in bars......or maybe even all of them.

I´m currently still in Antigua, Guatemala. I actually hiked my first volcano. It was phenomenal. Will have to tell you about it later. Back is a little sore today, but not too bad. Was an early night last night though.

Anyway, enjoy the pics. Don´t worry Mom and Dad, I was perfectly sober the whole time........kinda.

Buenos noches, senor Six-five.

Envious of the volcano hike--something else checked off your list of things to do before you die. Haven't checked it off my list yet--lots of different mountains & the Grand Canyon (funny how different hiking down is from hiking up) but no volcanos yet. When that moment comes I'll be sure to consult you, now you're an expert. Is there a dance to dodging molten lava?

In my urban adventures, been to some awesome concerts lately: Gomez, a cool psychedelic rock/blues band from the UK; Amadou & Miriam, a blind couple from Mali performing African jazz; and Corinne Bailey Rae--Billie Holiday meets Macy Gray, also from UK. Are you learning any cool revolutionary anthems, field worker ditties or Spanish love songs for the ladies? Your mission: is there a Spanish version of "99 bottles of beer"???...Kate

I posted a comment early yesterday but there were 3 of the same postings from you. Now 2 of them are gone along with my words of wisdom - so I'll repeat myself.

One of your latest pictures barely meets my initial criteria for the pictures I wanted you to take but I'll take what I can get. You should say what your Grandfather Fred would have said - "Do you ever take those out to play"? Just kidding. Looks like you are having the time of your life. Way to go. My advice to you today comes from Jasper Friendly Bear of the Dead Dog Cafe - “Stay Calm, Be Brave, Wait for the Signs”

Thanks Dirt (yes Heids, that is Thor)! I´m not quite sure if there was daylight there or not. I did walk by an old church at one point, but I didn´t have the camera on me.

Back isn´t too bad. If I find beds where my feet can hang off, then it gives it a good rest. The volcano hike was a bit of a bitch on the way down, but should be feeling better in the next couple of days.

How´s my old Honda looking. Are you telling all those pontential buyers that it was previously driven by a respectable banker??? They´ll never know (insert evil laugh)

Frisky,
For the volcano hikes....watch out for the white patches! And wear thick soled shoes.

Haven{t heard any Spanish anthems as of late, but I will keep my ear to the ground. Shakira seems to be to CA what the Hip are to Canada (or Celine to Kweebec). Actually, the radios down here have made a living off of getting local Spanish chicks to redo Celine´s hits. Actually, I´d have to say that from what I´ve seen, Celine actually is Canada´s number 1 global ambassador. How said is that. 'You from Canada.....Celine Dionne eh'

Yeah buddy, Celine Dionne.

Good to hear that you´re still hitting the music scene. I have taken a liking to Manu Chao, but I think that it has already been overplayed in most parts of the world.

Thanks for the advice Colin! I tried to get as many pics posted as possible!

Sorry for the technical difficulties.....this site is all in Spanish down here, so it makes it a real pain to navigate.

Guess I know what's on your mind from the look of those pics...looks like you are getting back to your old self....is that a good thing????

Seems that you are meeting some cute girls...remember if you decide to marry any of them, they have to wear at least a size 9...I ain't looking like some shrek in any family photos. No size 2s allowed....sorry.

I enjoy the comments on the bottom of photos, gives us an idea of who's who and what's going on. Keep em coming!

Hi Ry,
From your Auntie Marion again. Hope all is well, and your back is holding up. Damn, I can't get to see any of your pictures, as they are blocked on my system through work. Sounds like the volcano experience was awesome. Check things out for Philip & I so we can tour these spots when we retire. But I won't be walking on any lava. All is well here, Philip is home in less than 2 weeks. If you decide to swing by Sarejevo, Bosnia, don't go between July 21 & August 12th. The Hickster & I are going to the Sheryl Crowe concert tonight. Hope she can stay awake and keep up with the old lady.
Take care, Love ya.
