Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year folks. Here's to wishing a happy and healthy one for 2007.
I decided to head back to Queenstown where all the action is. Stayed at the Bungi Backpackers again for a couple of days, but they were full for New Year's eve (apparently, some people are actually prepared and they book ahead for that night), so I ended up pitching my tent in the Rugby field in town. It turned out to be great though, as there ended up being over 100 tents down there. Got to watch some fire works down at the harbour front which was cool, and then headed to a bar with a bunch of friends from the hostel. Also got to meet up again with my German buddy who was my partner in the fishing massacre at the Bay of Islands.
We ate chicken burgers this time instead.
Anyway, here are some pics from Christmas in Dunedin, and some from New Year's in Queenstown.
As I said, hope you all have a happy and healthy New Years.

PS - Oh yeah, after being on the road for 7 months now, I finally bumped into somebody I know when I was here in Queenstown. Jordan Walsh. Went to school with him at Dal. Weren't real close, but he'll due. I was getting depressed about not having a 'bumping into an old friend' story (recall, in the first week in Costa Rica, I bumped into the guy who knew Simom and Heidi, and the girl who knew uncle Bob, but nothing since then). Anyway, he's gone now, so back to flying solo. Ha!

Hey Ry! I was going to say that I can't see your lip ring and was wondering if it was gone! But then I read Greg's entry and thought that perhaps I just have bad eyesight.
Pretty calm New Years for us, movies and chinese food. After all the commotion of Christmas, we weren't the least bit excited about going out.
Nice tent...I can't believe how much you are "slumm'n" it! And are loving it too! Is it even long enough for you?...would be a great picture of your feet hanging out the end!!!
Can't believe it's been 7 months already...when is your "Leave" finished??? Hmmm, whatever. (;
Stay safe! Love you.
That Polar bear dip was COLD!!
I didn't know I had two belly buttons until after that dip.
I was told they cleaned up the Charlottetown harbour years ago. Guess not if I came up with a long piece of toilet paper clinging to my shoulder! It was more then the cold that got me scurrying out of that water.
Lots of press around. Interviewed by CBC and the Guardian news paper. CNN was there as well but got turned off by the turd on head. My buddies didn't even tell me it was there. Don't think my system could handle that again. I'll leave those daring activities to young folks like you. Your inspiration can only take me so far, Ryan.
Happy New Year

Hey dude,
Jordan Walsh - no way!? That's weird... how he's doing?
P.S. I didn't answer your call at 1.40am on New Year's eve cause I was .... um SLEEPING!! We thought it was news that Laura's sis was having her baby... nope... just Ryno.
Anyway - glad to see you've hit your stride and you look like you're having a good time... keep on keepin on.

Hi Ry,
Auntie Marion again! Happy New Year! Hard to believe its been 7 months. We all do enjoy your blog. I get to catch up on all the news about my family as well, especially the crazy guy that jumped in the Ch'town harbour. Like the Hickster said, a heart attack waiting to happen. Colin, your comments were hysterical but you are going to kill yourself if you keep this up. Hope all is well, Ry, take care.
